Mopane Driftwood (African Root Driftwood) This is a dense root wood from Namibia. The driftwood has been sandblasted and leached for 72 hours in running water. It is nice, clean and very gnarled. Each piece is unique. The driftwood is called Mopane, also known as cow fan wood. This is the root from trees that have had the sand washed away and have dried on the beach. Mopane wood is extremely dense and will sink when placed in water. As with all our driftwood each piece is chosen by me (not some one in a warehouse that could care less about your aquarium) to make sure they are the most interesting you can get. There are four galleries that show individual pieces, You can select the exact piece you want. For the extra large wood please give us a call or email as we do not stock in on premises. This page has our Mopane Driftwood listed on it, click on the description for a detailed description and more pictures of the wood. You can also click on the picture for a larger view of that picture.
